PUMPKIN STANDS

October 30, 2024 - We did a fun STEM project for Halloween called "Pumpkin Stands." Students worked together to build a stand with straws and tape to hold up a 1-pound pumpkin. The results were a lot of fun as stands made with the flimsy straws were not stable enough for the heavy pumpkin unless our young engineers know the secret: "Strength in Numbers!"
In 40 tension-filled minutes, all 16 groups gave it their best shot, and for the first time ever, a total of SIX TEAMS were successful: Jordan & Cristian, Lanee'a & Joshua, Alexa & Cyrelle & Kendra, Allona & Alexa, Emmie & Dalila and Elyanna & Mia.
For the champions, they won the Unicorn Award, $30 STEM money, and their names on our class' "Wall of Fame." Congratulations to all.
