WATERCOLOR 4: GEORGIA O'KEEFFE
January 17, 2025 - Georgia O’Keeffe (1887-1986) was an American artist born in Wisconsin. She is best known for her large paintings of flowers, rocks, shells, animal bones, and landscapes. She transformed small, ordinary objects from nature into large-scale abstract paintings filled with beautiful colors. She is one of the few women artists to have achieved such art historical significance.
For our final watercolor project, we imitated O'Keefe's style by painting flowers with solid, bright colors. We used blending, dripping, wet-on-wet, and splattering techniques to create our EXCELLENT artwork. We had a lot of fun creating flower art inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe.
